The Business of Guns

I was contacted by someone who was involved in the production and/or distribution of the video above.  It is not only impressive from a video editing standpoint, but one that remains neutral and purely educational in its intent.  Considering the data they acquired and the fact that they all appear to be based on true statistics, it should be quite a shock to all including both avid gun lovers as well as the anti-gun community   It is a clear representation as to just how big this industry really is and the positive effect it can have in this declining and somewhat unpredictable economy.

This excellent video is certainly worth less than two minutes of your time.

Fla. gun instructor says he’ll train any teacher

FORT MYERS, Fla. – With the whole nation asking how to stop school shootings, one Southwest Florida gun instructor thinks he has the answer.

Alecs Dean, president of International Firearm Safety Inc. here, is offering free gun training to any interested teacher.

“If two teachers call me tomorrow and say, ‘Hey, we want to take this training,’ then I’ll give them training tomorrow,” he said.

A week ago, a gunman opened fire in a Newtown, Conn., elementary school, killing 20 children and six adults. He also killed his mother and then himself, bringing the death toll to 28.

Dear Santa: Any of these 10 guns will make me happy

Dear Santa,

Well, I wasn’t sure whether you were still mad at me for the ‘words’ we had last year after Christmas. I know I over-reacted, but I was pretty disappointed about not getting the AR upper I asked for.

But hey, you said you forgave me, and would try to do better this Christmas. So I spent some time considering what I might like from all the different reviews I’ve written over the last year. Here are my top-ten candidates – excluding the guns I already got for myself that is…

5.11 Tactical Station Grip Multi-Task Glove Review

I never considered a pair of shooting gloves before but I could actually use some of these after the latest 1911 beauty that will be reviewed here soon.

Albuquerque, NM --(Ammoland.com)- I’ve been testing the 5.11 Tactical Station Grip Multi-Task Gloves.

These gloves are manufactured for 5.11 by ironclad, known for their high quality work gloves.

I have used Ironclad cut resistant gloves in the past to work with glass. The 5.11 Station Grip glove has a similar surface to the gloves I’ve used in the past. I suspect these have some cut and puncture resistant qualities which will aid in searches and pat downs of individuals who might have a syringe or knife in their pockets.

ConcealThis Oddities – Trigger Trainer

Now here’s one of those products that was certainly expected at some point but one that really does fit this category well.  Personally, I’m not really sure how this product would even help a majority.  Marketed as a product that will help build finger dexterity and muscle memory, it is likely it will truly be effective.  All guns are different in every aspect, including trigger pull, weight, action, etc.  You are better off just getting much cheaper snap caps and practicing with your very own pistol without worrying about damaging the firing pin or any other component.  For an even more realistic experience with trigger control, you can use products such as the SureStrike Laser Bullet.  I’d buy a rubber-band gun before I would buy this overpriced product.  Heck, it looks like one.
