Hey Kevin,

Not sure if the firing pin is hitting the ammo, but I'm sure that when it's 1/2 cocked you can pull the trigger and it goes all the way down just like you fired it without the safety on and the firing pin does move all the way forward. I'm know expert by any means, but I myself would never carry this way just in case the weapon was dropped and it landed on the hammer. Food for thought Kevin?

By the way, I just got off the phone with Sig's Customer service and asked if they were thinking about making a extended mag with the pinky rest like Colt did with their Mustang and he said he had already seen them and gave me his email address so I could get 1, or 2... ; )

Also I checked with the CHL Licensing Bureau and they mailed mine today... Yeah! About time!

Talked sig arms and they told me that with the hammer down and the safety on , that the firing pin could not hit the ammo on the sig p 238 . So why would it be unsafe to carry round in chamber and hammer down with safety on ?

I own the SAS version and the wife owns the Equinox version. We have put over a thousand rounds of both target grade ammo as well as defensive ammo thru them both. We are certainly comfortable with them. I own over thirty handguns and have owned over two hundred in my life. This is by far one of the most reliable ones. It is easy to conceal and, though it is not a 9mm, will still get the someone off of you at close range, which is where threats come from. I know 380 is a bit lighter than a 9mm but for concealed carry it will do the job.

I have had my P238 since they hit the local gun stores. After putting every type of ammo threw it I have to say that this is a perfect 380. Not one problem of any type. Recoil is the best of all the different 380's that I have fired. As I look back, I have owned 9 different 380's. This one will never be sold or traded. When I purchased it the price was $488, and now they sell for about $649. Conceals great, and the 380 clips from the Colt Mustang works great with an extra round, 7 instead of 6. My holster is a Galco STO 436 IWB an it fits and feels so good! Can't go wrong!!

Kevin,

I will tell you that the safety does not work when the hammer is 1/2 cocked, because it will still fire. And if you leave one in the camber with the hammer all the way down good luck not shooting yourself, or an someone you don't intend to!

Thank you,

My Husband suprised me with my new P238 Rainbow Titanium today- I saw this gun and fell in love with it. I can't wait to test it out tomorrow. I am used to shooting my Glocks so this will be different for sure. I really like the safety on the Sig and I just checked online and mine isn't under the Recall for the Safety Lock. I have heard that they have stopped making this and I know they are hard to find for sure. I have a feeling that this one is gonna hold it's value an maybe be collectable??? If not oh well, it's unusual. You either love it or hate it. I happen to LOVE it already and can't wait to test her out tomorow. Thanks Sig!
