Taurus PT1911 – Loaded 1911 for less? Yes!
Despite they are not carry-friendly, there is no other handgun I like more than the trusty old 1911. However, what is quite apparent is that these pistols are not necessarily cheap and unless you opt for a very basic model without all the bells and whistles, you may end up paying anywhere between $850-$1,600 for one. The 1911 is one of the most popular and trusted designs on the market and there are only two handgun manufacturers that are the most respected when it comes to these pistols. However, choosing one of these will put a deep hole in your pocket. Recently though, many other handgun manufacturers have been testing the waters and releasing their own line of 1911 pistols. One manufacturer many will not even consider as an option is Taurus. Personally, they don’t make reliable pistols at all and unless you’re on the market for a revolver, you’ll probably want to look elsewhere. However, they have personally proved me wrong with their first and fully loaded 1911, the PT1911.

When it comes to holsters, I have personally found that it is quite a touchy subject, especially for those who carry on a daily basis. What many apparently fail to realize is that carrying a handgun comfortably on a daily basis really depends on where they live and the attire they wear. Most don’t take this into consideration and are quick to judge as what is really the best concealment holster. What I also find quite odd is that while most are reluctant to spend a fortune on a handgun and looking for the best deal, they would not think twice to purchase a holster costing as much as $100. Why? Well it all comes down to quality, accessibility, comfort and finally…word of mouth. However, spending this much money on a holster doesn’t necessarily cover all these so-called requirements and you’ll be quite surprised when you take the time to research and find what may fit you best.
After a couple of emails, a comment and finally some site statistics on the PF-9 article posted, I found the need to post a brief article offering a pretty decent size comparison over a few other handguns. Kel-Tec does state that the PF-9 is the lightest and “flattest” 9mm handgun on the market and I can attest to that after not only owning so many handguns, but also after extensive research on the ultimate 9mm “pocket handgun”.
