How Prepared Are You With Your Gun

I think this is an article all who carry should read.  It is a clear representation as to your rights to carry and the implications it may cause after taking what may be considered proper, lawful action.

Rockford, IL –(AmmoLand.com)- If you’re like me, you own and maybe even carry firearms to be prepared for the unknown. You’ve probably had safety training and some marksmanship or defense training as well. We all do this to be ready in case we have to defend ourselves or our family.

I was unprepared one time, however, not for defending myself against a violent attack, but for the legal implications of carrying. Far too often, gun owners are treated as second-class citizens, and even worse — as criminals. Being prepared is looked at by some as a crime!

Man breaks in with BB gun, gets shot by resident’s real gun

Let’s face it…one of the worst and most daunting situations you could ever be faced with is a home invasion.  Criminals are usually armed and split second decisions many determine whether you live or die. Very rarely do you find criminals stupid enough to attempt such a horrifying act unarmed.  However, even more rare are those criminals so stupid, they will do it with a BB gun.  Man, is this world full of idiots.

SAN MARCOS, Texas – A man was shot by a home’s resident after the suspect allegedly broke in, according to police here.

It happened just before 10 p.m. Wednesday in the 700 block of Oscar Smith Dr. Investigators say three residents were in the home when the male suspect forced his way in through a backdoor.

The man was armed with a BB gun, which, according to police, looked like an authentic pistol. One of the residence’s occupants then produced a real firearm and fired numerous shots at the intruder. He was hit by some of the bullets and fled on foot.

Later, a man showed up at the Central Texas Medical Center in San Marcos with several gunshot wounds. He was later taken to an Austin hospital.

Why the United States Should Nationalize Concealed Carry Laws

Nationalization of concealed carry laws would make things in this country simpler and much safer.
Currently, under federal legal precedent it is legal for states to allow concealed carry with a permit, or even with no permit at all, says Laurie Ekstrand, established author. By nationalizing concealed carry laws, all states would have to have the same regulations governing concealed carry, making things much simpler than in the status quo.
