Elderly woman uses her handgun in self defense against a burglar

It is headlines like this one that I love to read and prove that gun ownership is not a privilege that should be taken from us.

An 89 year old Des Moines, Iowa woman reportedly used her .22 caliber handgun, which she purchased decades earlier but had never before fired, in self defense against an intruder.

The Obama Administration Year One: The flight from gun control

See folks?   The shortage of ammo or other related impacts are not due to Obama as I have clearly emphasized here.  It’s OK…relax.  Fellow gun owners and enthusiasts should not be so concerned, nor should they go on a buying frenzy for ammo and guns.  Folks, after the rough year he has had, he has so much more on his plate than to focus on gun control.

Much to the surprise of many, President Obama’s first year in office has not featured a push for new gun control legislation. In fact, not only has he not pushed for new legislation, he has actively resisted calls by gun control groups while signing legislation allowing open and concealed carry in National Parks and Wildlife Refuges as well as allowing firearms on Amtrak trains.

ConcealThis Size Comparison – Sig Sauer P238

While I recently posted a very decent size comparison on .380 pocket pistols, I decided to do another based on requests.  This one is on the new Sig Sauer P238 just reviewed here.  This time around, I’ll show you not only pictures, but also provide you with another ConcealThis HD video comparison as well.  This tiny pistol is, well, tiny and pictures don’t do it justice.  Let’s first have a look at the two models compared…

The Sig Sauer P238 was compared against the excellent new Diamondback DB380 (reviewed here) and the Kel-Tec P-32.  Why not the P3AT?  You’ll have to listen to the HD video version of the comparison for the answer.

ConcealThis Review: Sig Sauer P238 Equinox

There has been a high interest in pocket pistols lately and although not practical at the moment due to lack of ammo, those chambered for the .380 cartridge are in high demand. We have all seen a number of new and impressively small pistols not only from respected manufacturers, but even from those new to the market. Quite possibly one of the most appealing in this class is one from a company known for quality and reliability. That company is Sig Sauer and their new P238 is not only in high demand, but quite difficult to come by. For 1911 lovers, there is just nothing to dislike about it and one that will likely entice you enough to actually purchase one on impulse. As a pistol that can truly be unofficially classified as a mini 1911, the Sig P238 has all the features found in such full-sized models yet it manages to squeeze all this into its remarkably small form factor.

After reading all the positive comments here, I spent a considerable amount of time trying to find one for a thorough review. Time paid off, and I managed to find the incredibly scarce Equinox. Let’s have a thorough look at this well-designed pistol…

ConcealThis Tip: Choosing the Right Snap Caps

Snap caps are a must for any serious gun owner.  They allow you to safely test your new firearm as well as train others to use it without causing any potential damage caused by dry firing a pistol.  However, when it comes to Snap Caps, looks may be deceiving and what you may consider best are far from.  That’s the purpose of this latest ConcealThis tip.  I have used quite a few of them over the years, including those supplied with a select few handguns.  What I quickly found was that what I considered a better product turned out to be quite the opposite.

There a few choices out there for all caliber handguns.  In this short article though, I will cover two of the most popular choices, A-Zoom and Pachmayr.

Washington, DC --(AmmoLand.com)- The current administration has passed Obamacare, an experiment in government-run healthcare.

Clearly they have chosen to ignore the Constitution and the will of the people. What next? Will they go after the Second Amendment?
