More Guns DO Equal Less Crime

BELLEVUE, WA – -(Ammoland.com)- For the third year in a row, violent crime has declined in the United States while increasing numbers of American citizens own firearms and are licensed to carry, a trend that belies predictions of anti-gunners that more guns will result in more crime, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms said today.

Preliminary data from the FBI’s Uniform Crime Report shows that the violent crime rate went down 5.5 percent in 2009, compared to statistics from 2008. This covers all four categories of violent crime: murder, robbery, aggravated assault and forcible rape. Violent crime went down 4 percent in metropolitan counties and 3 percent elsewhere, according to the FBI.

ConcealThis Poll: Do You Pack Heavier Based on Attire?

The last poll yielded some rather interesting results.  It appears the handgun is the clear winner for home defense.  I was quite surprised and expected it going to the shotgun.  This next poll goes out to all permit holders out there and one that many will likely be curious to know.

Many live in areas where attire depends on climate throughout the year.  For example, I live in sunny South Florida and a t-shirt and shorts is what is commonly worn.  With that said, carrying a large handgun is simply not an option.  However, some may live in areas where they may be able to carry a larger handgun or may choose  to carry other options based on what they will be wearing.  Some may also own multiple handguns and use them for this very reason.  That leads to the next interesting ConcealThis poll…

ConcealThis Range Report: Aguila Ammo

During the past year, many have noticed just how hard it has been to acquire quality ammunition in certain calibers.  The most difficult happens to be the .380 ACP.  So when times like these arise, you can’t afford to be as picky and in some cases, may even settle for lower quality ammo.  But what you may consider low quality may be quite the opposite to a number of other gun enthusiasts.  One brand of ammo that falls into this category is Aguila.  There are some who love it and some who hate it and even some gun manufacturers that recommend it.  So which is it and should it really be one to cross off your list?  Let’s find out…
