“The popularity of the LCP has been overwhelming,” said Chris Killoy, Ruger Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

Detroit Police harass legal gun owners at ‘Gun buyback’

Detroit police harassed legal gun owners at yesterday’s so-called “gun buyback” while ignoring other obvious felonies at the “No questions asked” event.

The event, held at the Second Ebenezer Church, offered $25 for non-working firearms, $50 for functional firearms, and $100 for “assault weapons.” Continental management donated the money and the Detroit Police Department ran the event.

The Detroit Police Department advertised that guns could be turned in with “No questions asked.” As I wrote in yesterday’s article, Sell your stolen gun to the Detroit Police Department, this created an opportunity for criminals to dispose of guns used in crime without fear of the guns being used as evidence against them. At least one person was seen brining an illegal sawed-off shotgun into the event.

Doug Holloway, a local RKBA activist, organized a small group of gun owners who showed up at the event to offer to pay higher prices for legal guns than what the organizers of the “gun buyback” were willing to pay.

One person took Holloway up on his offer and sold him a Hi Point carbine, with soft case, for $160. “The seller said he was a police officer,” Holloway said. “He said he’d bought it at a gun show three years ago and decided he didn’t need it.”

Kahr Arms Laserguard Equipped P380 & PM45 Pistols

Those of you interested in the Kahr P380 or the PM45 should note that both are now offered with a Crimson Trace laser right from the factory.

PEARL RIVER, NY –-(Ammoland.com)- Kahr Arms is proud to introduce two of their most popular model handguns, the P380 and the PM45, now available with Crimson Trace Laserguards directly from the factory.

The KP3833L and PM4543L will come with the popular Crimson Trace Laserguard model LG- 437 straight from the Kahr factory. The Laserguard design is the most compact, instinctively activated, user-adjustable laser sighting system available. Your KP3833L or PM4543L comes complete with allen wrench for adjustment, sight cleaners, batteries, and Crimson Trace decal.

The Model LG-437 uses either two #357 silver oxide batteries or a single 1/3N 3-volt lithium battery. These small batteries allow the Laserguard to be unobtrusive yet powerful enough to provide the brightness. The LG-437 uses the smaller 3.3mm diameter laser diode, which reduces the overall size of the laser diode housing.

The LG-437 has both windage and elevation adjustments for shooters to adjust the laser for a perfect hit.

The .380 ACP caliber KP3833L has a 2.5” premium Lothar Walther match grade barrel, black polymer frame, matte stainless steel slide, 6+1 magazine capacity, and comes with two 6-round stainless steel magazines. The .45 ACP caliber PM4543L, with a 3.14” barrel, Lothar Walther match grade polygonal rifling and 1-16.38 right hand twist, has 5+1 magazine capacity and comes with two 5-round stainless steel magazines. It also has a black polymer frame with a matte stainless steel slide.

Amtrak Prepares For Guns In Checked Bags

Charlotte, NC --(Ammoland.com)- Railroad passengers on Amtrak should soon be able to once again transport firearms in checked baggage.

The change is slated to begin on Dec. 15, the effective date of the amendment by Sen. Roger Wicker, R-Miss., that forced Amtrak to accommodate gun owners. The new service will only be available between stations where checked baggage service is currently available.

As when transporting guns on a commercial airline flight, gun owners should pack firearms unloaded and in a locked, hard-sided container. Ammunition should be stored in a manufacturer’s box or in “fiber, wood, or metal boxes … or in other packaging specifically designed to carry small amounts of ammunition.”

Unlike airlines, Amtrak also requires handgun cases to be stored inside a suitcase or other checked bag.

Also unique to Amtrak is a requirement (forced by a last-minute change to the amendment) that travelers notify Amtrak of their intention to transport firearms, at least 24 hours before departure. Notification must be by phone(not online), and firearms must still be declared upon check-in.
