Ladies Lock and Load: Women Buying More Guns

This is certainly interesting. I’d like to marry one actually.  It is nice to know many women are now looking to defend themselves and others during this difficult time where many are desperate and will resort to extreme measures just to get by.  Women and guns just rocks!

Women are gaining on men in the purchase of firearms for hunting and personal defense, according to the NRA and others. Thousands of women are learning how to shoot—and going hunting together, reports Shushannah Walshe.

Is The Rhino A Big Animal Or Weird Handgun

I have actually covered this odd handgun here a few months back.  Now new information has surfaced. More info on this uniquely small revolver below…

Dayton OH --(Ammoland.com)- MKS Supply, Inc. The Rhino is a totally new, ergonomically designed revolutionary designed firearm and the Rhino looks like no other handgun and for several good reasons.

Shown is the 2-inch barrel version in matt electorless nickel

Yes, we know. It’s out of the box advanced design is a little weird looking but it really is the first serious significant new revolver improvement in over 100 years!

Why?

The Rhino fires from the bottom chamber (6:00 position). This is unlike any other handgun. The low-barrel design shifts recoil in-line with the shooter’s forearm and upper arm (No, it won’t crush your body; shatter your arm; or lower your I.Q.; okay, it may do that).

The relocated barrel nearly eliminates shooter felt recoil and muzzle flip and allows the shooter to fire incredibly fast highly-accurate repeat shots from the hard recoiling and powerful .357 Magnum cartridge.

What You Need to Know About Stopping Power

My agency allowed me to use department letterhead to solicit shooting reports for my thesis, and major agencies across the country were very good to me. I received written reports, including autopsy data, from across the nation.

The only thing these agencies requested in return were my results. And what did I discover or uncover? Not a darn thing. For every shooting in which a particular caliber and ammo combination worked well, I found another in which it failed. After all of the time and effort I spent on the subject, you’d think I’d have a good handle on the subject, but I don’t.

Wilson Combat CQB Light-Rail Lightweight Compact

If you have enough money to shell out on one of these, perhaps this beauty will be of high interest.

To shed off the pounds, Wilson Combat used an aluminum frame for their new deep concealment .45 1911 style pistol.  The CQB Light-Rail Lightweight Compact, if the name didn’t already imply, has an integral rail for attaching a tactical light.  It also sports a fiber optic battle sight, Wilson Combat’s signature G10 Starburst Grips, a 4″ stainless match grade cone barrel and a tactical thumb safety.  Also, to make it even more battle ready, the pint size 1911 features a mere 3.5″ trigger pull.

Diamondback Firearms Releases the 9mm DB9

Went to the Diamondback Firearms Website today to see what’s new and wow, what a pleasant surprise! As many were hoping for, they have just released a 9mm version of their popular DB380 pistol.  As a new company when it comes to firearms, this is their second pistol released to date.

A few very important things to note here.  The DB9 looks quite small.  In fact, even when compared to the excellent Kel-Tec PF-9, it has an edge in terms of width and overall weight.  Its width is only .8″ vs .88″ and appears to now take the top spot as the slimmest 9mm on the market.  It also weighs in at only 11 ounces. That’s remarkably less than the super light PF-9.  As a DB380 owner, what do I consider the best feature of all?  It appears to have the same super smooth 5lb DAO trigger that the DB380 is known for.  With that said, this pistol should be as highly accurate and a pleasure to shoot, regardless of your skill level.

While I love their DB380 pistol reviewed here, many don’t seem to be impressed with it and in fact, many have quite a hatred towards the company as a result.  While mine does not have any issues, many owners have reported a large number of issues with it and don’t consider it a reliable gun at all. Perhaps their new DB9 will win many over.  It appears to be an excellent concealed carry weapon.  I will try and get a hold of one for review here.

Visit their website for additional information.

How to make your Glock fully automatic

It is possible for roughly $280.  Be sure to check the video after the break…

The German company SIGG, who developed the double-pistols I recently blogged about, are well known for their FSSG drop-in full-auto selector switches for Glock pistols.

This small selector switch replaced a Glock’s rear slide plate. It allows the selection of full-auto or semi-auto fire and is compatible with any Glock. The rate of fire can reach 1200 rpm depending on the ammunition being used.
