ConcealThis Size Comparison – Sig Sauer P238

While I recently posted a very decent size comparison on .380 pocket pistols, I decided to do another based on requests.  This one is on the new Sig Sauer P238 just reviewed here.  This time around, I’ll show you not only pictures, but also provide you with another ConcealThis HD video comparison as well.  This tiny pistol is, well, tiny and pictures don’t do it justice.  Let’s first have a look at the two models compared…

The Sig Sauer P238 was compared against the excellent new Diamondback DB380 (reviewed here) and the Kel-Tec P-32.  Why not the P3AT?  You’ll have to listen to the HD video version of the comparison for the answer.

Starting with the length, the P238 is the longest of the bunch.  That’s actually a good thing.  The longer the barrel, the more accurate it can fire.  However, the trigger guard is small and not boxy-like most polymer offerings.

Next set of shots are top and front views.  The Sig Sauer P238 is a very slim gun but as a reader here questioned, it appears to be slightly thicker and that is due to the external slide stop pin.  Other than that, this gun is just as slim as the DB380 and rivals both the P3AT and Ruger LCP.  The front barrel view clearly depicts the longer length and smaller trigger guard.

Finally, a full top and back view of all three pistols.  These angles clearly show it is thin enough to join the pack and other than the slide stop, the P238 is just as thin as its competitors.

Bottom line is that this pistol is remarkably small and other than length, its size is comparable to all other options currently on the market.  Other than its weight, it is highly concealable and one that will impress more in person than in pictures.

Pictures and words not enough?  Check out the ConcealThis HD video comparison…

Lack of muzzle control is disturbing. 4 rules!
